Built in 1974, Soon Chun Hyang University Hospital is the head branch of SCH Medical center which started out as a 250-bed hospital and has since grown into a major healthcare institute that operates over 2,500 beds in Bucheon, Cheonan and Gumi as well as the Soon Chun Hyang Hospital in Seoul.
SCH University Hospital, is located in Itaewon where many foreigners reside. With regional distintiveness, they started operating International department since 1999 and approximately 6,000 foreign patients visit the hospital every year. Currently, over 1,200 staff members including 130 professors for each specialty give their efforts in medical research, education and patient treatment.
Their experienced international patient service team helps foreign patients coordinate their care, including scheduling doctors’ appointments, dealing with medical records, and providing estimates for the healthcare services. Professional medical interpreters (English, Russian, Chinese, Mongolian) are available at free of charge.
