Introduction

Professor Kim, the head of Colon Cancer Center at Samsung Medical Center, is well known as a surgeon who supports patients and their family with all his heart. He carries out about 500 cases of surgeries a year while other gastrointestinal surgeons do about 300 surgeries a year. With his hectic schedule, he still he gathers patients every Monday to give them a health lesson and to answer patient’s questions.

Moreover, to enhance understanding of hard-to-treat colon cancers and find better treatments, Dr Kim occasionally opens symposiums regarding rare and advanced colon cancer cases with surgeons from other big hospitals in Korea.

Since Dr Kim has lead the Center, the percentage of laparoscopic cancer surgery that leaves a minimal scar and shortens recovery time has been increased up to 80%. Professor Kim is preferred by patients for his renowned skillful surgery as well as his utmost sincere attitude.

Many of his patients gave testimony that his heartfelt advice became a great encouragement to the patients and their family.

He acquired Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD in Medicine from Seoul National University, one of the best universities in Korea.
